iPulse (http://www.iconfactory.com/ip_home.asp) is a nice little app. I use it as a clock/system monitor.
"Using its concise and pleasing user interface, iPulse graphically displays the inner workings of Mac OS X on the desktop or in the dock. The entire user interface is completely configurable so you can turn off gauges you don't want, leaving only what you are interested in for easy viewing."
It's not free.........

That isn't entirely true. iPhone 1,1 (and soon iPhone 1,2) users can't run all apps. Anything that requires 4.0 (probably 4.3~5.0 for iPhone 1,2) won't run. Neither will things that require a certain amount of horsepower (say like Infinity Blade).
Good point. I was going more for current devices, as I assumed the other post was.
You know what they say about assumptions though. You make an ass out of u and someone named mptions.

After reading his previous predictions, Shaw Wu is about as good a fortune teller as Carnac.
Yeah, what an idiot. Apparently this guy gets paid bug bucks to read about stuff on MacRumors and Slashdot all day and assemble them into predictions.

I have a grid of thumbnail images on my HTML page. When you click on an image, the background fades and a larger version of that chosen image pops up for better viewing. However, it pops up BEHIND the horizontal Menu Machine links. This menu bar stretches across the top of the page just under the main banner.
How can I fix it so the inflated image isn't obscured by the menu bar?

Same as before:
• For large images use [tIMG] rather than [IMG]
• Use attachments when necessary so images don't disappear when they are removed from their source
• When possible, include links to the full-sized original so others can download them. If you don't want to share, state that in your posts so others don't continue to ask for links.
• When quoting a post with images, leave the image out, or make sure you [tIMG] to reduce clutter.

Why does it take a media storm for Apple to open up on an issue ? It would be so much better if they more forthcoming and frank before an issue snowballs.
maybe because, often, it's not even an issue ... until the media makes it an issue.

Do you really think there is a limit to how much storage people want? People would rather shuffle more songs than less.

Are you referring to Lord of the Rings Online or are you referring to something else? Lord of the Rings Online is a Windows based game so you would need to run it on Bootcamp or through a program like Parallels.

Higher taxes result in more revenue and increases in economic activity and job creation.
I say we raise taxes, make them more progressive and at the same time, look at government spending and make reasonable and smart decisions about what and where to cut. Step one is to make sure everyone at that table can pass the one question test. "Where was the President born." Anyone who fails that test should be fired, but at a minimum, barred from participation in any meaningful discussions.
(edit) Not to get into blame, but I find it amusing that it's only now that we have a Democrat in office that Republicans like Fivepoint want to make tough choices, and the solutions they come up with are just more of the same policies from the last administration. (Cut taxes, cut government, cut social programs).

Again to get the real hourly wage divide $25 by 3, that is the true hourly rate which is $8.30. Reasonable I think not.
Generally the rule is the rule of 3 (this is how I quote, clients are happy and I don't undercut myself), times quotes by 3 and divide your hourly rate by this will give you the most accurate way of billing and ensuring you don't undercut yourself while the actual payment is never over the quoted amount (clients love this). It means it will allow you to reinvest in yourself with sick leave, holidays, new equipment and software.
So for a site mock up I would have quoted $675, while the actual billable would have come in around $375-$450.
Hi. Thanks yet again for all the advice. I've learned more about pricing from this thread the last 2 days, than I did all my years at school. If I can be a pig and ask for a little more advice. I'd like to show an example of what I've been doing for a client who owns a music studio/music school. They have me design cd packaging for their artists, that they then send to Oasis for print. The one on the right has already gone to print and the artist was very happy with the end result. The one on the left is near finished. I'm ashamed to say I charged the same low hourly figure for this work as well. What do you think this kind of work is worth; if I may ask? Thanks :)

There are 2 versions: the console version and the arcade machine version.
The console one is terrible.
I can tell you that the Arcade version is spot on! Did not try the 2600 version. Hopefully Intellivision releases something similar, so I can play B-17 Bomber and Advanced D&D

Versus IOS devices that can run 100% of the apps?
I'd like to see your numbers as well, as honeycomb is supposed to be where it's headed, and last I checked, there weren't record numbers of developers flocking to that iteration of the OS.
